Massage into your scalp and leave for at least 3 minutes – make sure it has good contact with the scalp, as this is the main reason you have bought this product!
Smooth the product through your scalp first, then your hair. Work through the scalp first, then the rest of hair in sweeping strokes, massaging through gently. We designed this for your scalp at the end of the day. That is the living part of you, and the hair does not need washing…ever?!
Rinse well and repeat; the 2nd time round, it lathers a lot better!
Rinse again.

How often should I use it?:
Using Haircalma cleanser for the right amount of time is essential to help your scalp’s condition; for severe scaling, we would suggest using Haircalma cleanser daily for at least two weeks before reducing it down to every other day, after which every three days minimum.

For a generally sensitive scalp, you may wish to use it every other day.

Low foam action:

Sometimes there is a product build-up on the scalp; sometimes, there is a natural layer of oil, sebum, which may have built up over the day. Whatever it is, it is a potential barrier for the product to work; the second wash has no such barrier. It will get to work much better than the first wash.

Haircalma cleanser may not feel as though it is moving around the hair as much as high foam shampoos, which give the user the luxurious, slippery feeling because foam helps the product move around the hair, and we associate lots of bubbles with higher quality cleansers (Shampoos don’t have to foam at all, people just like the feeling, this is why most shampoos produce lots of foam)

So, the first time you use Haircalma cleanser, it may feel a little different, it may not move around the hair and other non-specialist products, but not to worry, it will still gently cleanse the hair and your scalp with thank you for it!

To make the most of Haircalma Scalp Moisturiser and achieve optimal scalp health, follow these steps:

Apply on a clean, wet or damp scalp: After shampooing with Haircalma Cleanser, remove excess water.
Target the scalp directly: Our unique nozzle applicator allows you to apply directly to the scalp. Invert the bottle and apply a generous amount directly to areas that need the most attention, such as dry or flaky spots.
Massage in: Use your fingertips, or wide toothed comb to distribute evenly throughout the hair* and massage into the scalp.
Leave for a few minutes: Allow Haircalma Scalp Moisturiser to sit on your scalp for a few minutes to absorb and deliver maximum hydration and relief.
Rinse thoroughly: Rinse out the product completely, ensuring no residue is left behind, which keeps hair feeling light and manageable.
Frequency of Use: Use Haircalma Scalp Moisturiser 2-3 times a week, or as needed, based on your scalp’s condition.
For a generally sensitive scalp, you may wish to use it every other day.

FAQ

What does low foam mean?

Bubbles! We love them, but they are doing one job for the hair, it makes the product feels nice, and it does nothing for the scalp.

Your average theraputic shampoo usually has a strong detergent to cleanse the scalp, an ingredient to make the shampoo feel slippery and coat the hair and another product to boost the foam and make bubbles. Instead of this, we picked one of the most gentle cleansers for our shampoo which creates a dense foamy cream when massaged into the scalp (rather than creating a massive amount of bubbles through the hair).

We are happy to trade off a cosmetic (pointless) feel for a real benefit to the scalp, as it means we retain a very mild formula, with a dense, luxurious cream that sits close to the scalp and delivers the actives in the product well!

So, the first time you use Haircalma, it may feel a little different, it may not move around the hair as well as other non-specialist products, and you will need to use a little more for long hair (hence the larger bottle) but not to worry, it will still gently cleanse the hair and your scalp with thank you for it!

I have long, thick hair, and the shampoo is not lathering up?

Haircalma was designed to be a low foam cleanser to ensure it is as kind to the scalp as possible. Foam has nothing to do with cleansing, it has been put into shampoos to make it feel nice, but the ingredients that make bubbles may irritate the scalp, so we decided to eliminate this potential problem!

Here are some tips for those who need to use this product but find it cosmetically challenging:

Thicker, longer or very dry/damaged hair, you may need to use a conventional shampoo through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair as this product may not give you the ‘feel’ of your regular shampoo or use your regular shampoo on the 1st wash than use Haircalma cleanser on the 2nd just make sure you leave it on for up to 3 minutes before rinsing

What about the smell?

Both the Haircalma cleanser and moisturiser are colour and scent-free as these are the main sensitising agents found in products.

Does Haircalma cleanser strip colour?

Haircalma cleanser is very mild to the scalp and the hair. During our clinical testing, there were no complaints about our shampoo stripping hair colour.

What does 'Dermatologically Tested' mean?

“Dermatologically Tested” means it has been independently reviewed to the specific characteristic under clinical conditions verified by a dermatologist.

What is so unique about the Haircalma scalp therapy system?

Both Haircalma products have been clinically tested (twice) to ensure they are hypoallergenic and effective against flaking conditions (such as dandruff).

What does 'clinically Tested' mean?

We have tested our products in clinical conditions and had them independently evaluated; the main points of our study show:

Here at Hairmedic Solutions Ltd, we will do our very best to process your order within 24 hours, if your order is placed before 2pm Monday to Friday.
Orders placed after 2pm for delivery will be subject to delivery within 60 hours.

Requests must contain the following: First name, last name, telephone/mobile number and email address. This information must be identical to the information originally submitted on your order. Please provide contact information so that we may contact you if we have questions in regards to cancelling your order or requesting returns.

Every effort will be made to accommodate the processing of your request as soon as possible after the receipt of your request via email, providing your order has not been charged and/or shipped out. In the event that a cancellation was submitted and your order was shipped out after, we will gladly refund the complete balance charged excluding delivery (£4.45). We undertake to respond to your request via email to inform you of actions to be taken within 5 working days.

This is subject to you returning the products ordered unused, in good condition with the pump unopened. We cannot entertain refunds and cancellations for products that have been opened, damaged or partially used. We cannot entertain refunds which are not bought directly from Hairmedic Solutions Ltd, ie our website. If you buy from one of our retailers you must take your product and receipt back to the store you bought the product and seek their advice, terms and conditions.
