Please note: The consultation is private (not available on the NHS).

Regarding blood tests: After the initial trichology consultation blood tests may be required to investigate/identify the hair problem. Currently due to constraints imposed on NHS GP’s, and blood vial shortages, most GP’s are refusing all non-essential blood tests. So if our patients need any bloods testing, these can be ordered through a home testing kit through a private company, which we can arrange after the consultation.

Hairmedic Pre-consultation Check List

To ensure you get the most out of your consultation we recommend the following steps before your visit:

  • If you have had recent blood tests (in the past 6 months) please bring a copy with you.
  • Wash your hair a day before your appointment, not on the day.

  • Do not add any camouflage treatments to the hair before the consultation.
  • Bring with you a list of the medication you are currently taking.
  • Bring with you a list of the medications you have previously tried.
  • Time line – think about when this problem started and if there were any stressful events (illnesses, accidents, upsets) several months beforehand.
  • The consultation is 30 minutes, please be prompt, you will not be able to enter the building earlier than your appointment and late arrivals will not be admitted.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy when booking a consultation:- Full payment for the consultation will be taken at the time of your booking this is to limit unnecessary contact at the time of consultation and to keep ‘no shows’ to a minimum as time is at a premium. Should you need to cancel or reschedule we kindly ask that you call us 3 working days before your appointment on 0330 6600648. Failure to give the full notice will result in the payment not being refunded. This allows us to manage our diaries and offer the appointment time to another patient. Please arrive for your appointment at least 10 minutes in advance so that the necessary paperwork can be completed. Late arrival may result in forfeiting the appointment. Hairmedic will endeavour to ensure that your appointment runs to time; however, should we need to cancel or postpone your appointment at short notice, we will make every effort to contact you in advance.
